OUR STORY
Bricasti Design was founded in 2004 by ex-Harman Specialty Group employees Brian Zolner and Casey Dowdell. Brian stared at the original Lexicon in 1984 and held various positions in sales, developed its international sales network for both professional and consumer markets for the Lexicon brand, and before leaving was VP of worldwide sales. Casey later joined Lexicon as a dsp software engineer and his primary focus was algorithm development for professional and consumer products including work on high end reverberation, Logic 7 and later Mark Levinson products when development for that brand became part of the group in MA with the closure of Madgrial. Additional hardware design for Bricasti Design products is contracted to a small group of ex Madrigal Labs employees in New Haven CT, Aevee Labs, who worked on many of the classic products designed at Madrigal during their tenure there.
Together this team brings a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in product design and marketing for both the high end professional and consumer markets. Bricasti Design’s first product brought to market in 2007 was the M7 reverb; it is now used by the top recording engineers and studios, and as a a result of its success the company in now recognized by the industry to be the market leader in high end reverberation processing. Success of this product shows the team’s ability to develop and bring to the market a product combines leading edge digital design with classic analog.
OUR HERITAGE
In 2011 the company introduced the M1 digital to analog converter to the hi-end consumer market and was received with great acclaim by the hi-end press around the world. The M1 is based on the proven converter and analog design used in the M7, so it can be assured that it is a stable and proven electrical design with thousands of units installed. For the M1 implementation, this design was taken to no cost spared levels, especially in terms of construction, board layout, component selection, analog design, additional digital processing and dedicated power supplies to yield a level of performance that would be deemed suitable for a high performance stand-alone product.
In 2014 The M28 reference class mono block power amp was the next product to be introduced by the company for both the hi-end consumer and professional markets. Based on the development team’s years of experience in this area of expertise, this product shares the same historical pedigree as the M1, and thus assured of delivering the very best in sound reproduction. It then followed in 2016 with the M12 Source Controller, and M15 stereo power amp, and in 2018 with the new flagship DAC the M21.
Bricasti Design is dedicated the high end markets, remains a small private company, with people that are passionate about sound and exceptional quality; all products are designed and manufactured in the USA in Boston MA. For the future, given its history and experienced development team for proven analog and digital designs the company is looking ahead to adding more products to their consumer and professional product lines.
Brian Zolner
Passionate about music, Brian realized his dream in the 1980s by working closely with both music and musicians, ultimately joining Lexicon, a leading company in the professional market in the field of reverberation. Today, he serves as President of Bricasti Design and is the chief Industrial designer for all of our product ranges. Among his many talents, Brian plays the Saxophone and guitar.
Casey Dowdell
Casey is the Lead DSP Engineer at Bricasti Design. He began learning machine code in high school and holds multiple patents in the medical industry stemming from his innovative engineering work. A lifelong lover of music, Casey previously owned and operated a professional recording studio, bringing both technical depth and real-world musical experience to his research in the field of reverberation and digital audio.
Damon Gramont
Damon Gramont worked closely with Brian and Casey for the launch of the M7 reverb in 2007 and joined Bricasti Design full-time in 2011 as the Director of Sales and Marketing. Damon is a lifelong musician and can regularly be found in his home studio writing and recording music.
Joe Torosian
Joe oversees all production, service, shipping, custom shop orders and handles the companies day-to-day operations. Joe enjoys spending time with his family and In his spare time, enjoys being a collector of rare things and bringing down the house singing Karaoke.
Bill Uber
Bill is Bricasti Design’s master craftsman and a third-generation machinist. Bill oversees and builds many of our products, including all of the fine detail work done by hand. Bill enjoys staying physically fit, and is an avid fitness enthusiast.

Our mission is to take the art forward in everything we do. Creating music and the tools that bring music to life is the passion that drives us. This commitment first took shape in 2007 with the introduction of the M7 Stereo Reverb Processor, a platform that established the company’s authentic approach to digital signal processing. With great patience and deliberate ground-up development, Bricasti Design has left a lasting impact on our industry.
