The M20 Source Controller/Preamplifier builds on the analog design of the M12 dual-mono source controller to deliver a rich analog experience with fluid, fast, and tonally balanced audio. It features fully differential and independently buffered signal paths for superior isolation and purity of sound. A proprietary, all-discrete resistor ladder attenuator, ceramic circuit boards, and three dynamic Class A linear power transformers combine to create the ultimate platform for any high-performance audio system.

YOUR POWER
The attenuator is a discrete ladder of digitally controlled resistors in 1dB steps, utilizing Vishay foil resistors in critical locations within the circuit. We find these resistors to have a unique sonic character, which we employed to impart a distinctive tonal quality to the M20. The PCB is made from ceramic materials, offering excellent dielectric properties. The final output buffers are a proprietary in-house discrete design, with level control accomplished using an R-2R ladder technique. This approach ensures perfect balance and tonal consistency at any listening level, along with input offset programming, memory recall, and full remote control capabilities.
THE HEART
OF YOUR SYSTEM
The M20 features three separately buffered analogue outputs, two balanced and one unbalanced. The output buffers are our discreet design, which is also based on other products found in the M1, M12, and M21. All signal switching and hard output mutes are done using logic-controlled relays. With three separately buffered outputs, the M20 is ideal for bi-amp applications with two balanced outs to drive two power amps or run two or three zones.

The M20 includes two balanced XLR inputs and outputs, along with one unbalanced RCA input and output. Pre-set channel naming conventions shown on the display can be uniquely customized through the menu, along with fine adjustment of level offset. A trigger-out mini-jack on the rear panel can be connected to Bricasti power amplifiers or DACs, sending a 5V DC trigger signal to power them in and out of standby.

The M20 is a fully differential, dual mono preamplifier powered by three linear power supplies, one for each analog section and a separate supply for the digital control circuit processor, ensuring full isolation from the analog PCB and power supplies in a Class A design. The M20 comes complete with Stillpoints isolation feet and is available in a Classic anodized black finish, a clear aluminum Argento finish, or the optional Platinum finish with brass fittings.
